Didn't feature below, but check The Miseducation of Cameron Post, another indie"ish" release this week. Getting really solid reviews and highlights some voices not generally heard. Encourage a peek.
For those curious about businessy news, Netflix bought another big movie, Mogwli (the darker version of The Jungle Book from Andy Serkis) from a major studio - they also bought Paramount's Cloverfield Paradox earlier this year. Interesting on many levels, not least of which is that this has studios the ability to hedge on risky already finished movies (but how many times will Netflix wanna play?).

WHAT'S THE DEAL
“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
Well said ya honey fiend. With that in mind, let's just say "Sometimes it's the adults that need teaching."
Fun note: same director (Marc Forster) as World War Z and Bond flick Quantum of Solace - ya know, same same, but different.

WHAT'S THE DEAL
A mostly straightforward comedy action flick, but with the wrinkle of two female leads (Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon). Which is something positive (and not common enough), considering a possible alternative is a Dude, Where's My Car all woman reboot (no, it's not happening... yet).
And don't go for the plot, which based on the title you can imagine means you'll see two friends get caught up in spy... stuff after one of em gets dumped by a Bond wannabe, go cuz you like the stars and you can enjoy their faces being huge in front of you for two hours even if they're joke vault mostly holds 10's and 20's.
Note: it does feature Jamie from Outlander for those feening for more of the MacKenzie clan heartthrob.
REVIEWS
Split, but as Refinery 29 put it: "Why not sit back, and enjoy a summer blockbuster with jokes about vaginas that aren't geared towards men?" Hard to argue against.

Kate McKinnon could make you laugh while you're stabbing yourself in the elbow, so huge plus she’s in it. And while we're pretty sure stabbing ourselves in the elbow word be worse than watching this one. We're only pretty sure...

THE DARKEST MINDS
AKA
"ya know, cuz kids need more reasons to be scared of adults"
PG-13 / 1 hr 56 mins
Sci-Fi-Action-YA / FOX
WHAT'S THE DEAL
The fact we can say this is in the Kids W/ Special Powers or Abilites Who Are On Their Own & Must Fight Against Evil Adults genre, is a long way of saying the movies in said film categorization are getting a bit repetitive.
And tbh, we're a little shocked children haven't risen up in a children of the corn like coup against adults after reading all these dystopian set books these flicks are based on (or, ya know, the news). Good thing for smartphones w/ Instagram and Snapchat eh?
For those adults not horrified at themselves and still reading, this one is a straight up X-Men meets Hunger Games combo. Specifics being: most of the worlds' kids die, some of those who survive have "powers," adults freak and lock them away (logical?), but some escape, including a SUPER special one, and they fight.
REVIEWS
Sounds competent, if entirely known and forgettable.

A chance to show that both genders can act stupid, have fun, get high and generally f'around while making jokes that'll make grandpa turn down his hearing aid (but back up once you stop looking).
