THE QUOTE đŹ đŹ
âAll those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.â
hint: the actor who said these lines changed the monologue the day of the shoot
THINK THOUGHTS đ
âThink Thoughtsâ is turning into âNo Thoughtsâ pretty darn quickly here.
But I do want to send a little note out to a friend â âScrew two, you can still have all the fun with just one.â

NEWSY BITS đž
Ari Emanuel Predicts Media Consolidation Will Leave Just â5 or 6â Major Content Providers â a âHealthy Ecosystemâ - I mean, how many do we have now? Letâs count: Paramount, Warner Bros, Disney, Amazon, Netflix, Lionsgate, Sony, Universal. Iâm at 8 (7.5 depending on where you stand with Lionsgate). Soooo, who gunâ die? Context: Emanuel is the head of Endeavor, a talent agency that dabbles in and the basis for Ari Gold on Entourage. - Variety
For Wendell Pierce and Courtney B. Vance, James Earl Jones Loomed Large - nice little tribute (one of many going around) for the man that was definitely more than just a voice. - NY Times
EXTRA CREDIT MOVIE(S) đ
The Killerâs Game - kinda harsh, but looks like Dave Bautistaâs schlocky John Wick knock-off. No reviews, but if you want to see people getting shot, a lot of them, while (cliched) quips are tossed aplenty. Here you gooooo. Playing in Theaters Friday
The 4:30 Movie - Kevin Smith doing a sort of coming of age / Dazed and Confused thing where a dudeâs just trying to go see a movie with a girl (and maybe his friends too). The reviews say itâs one of Smithâs better movies in a while, in large part because he lets his (fun to watch) characters just be. Playing in Limited Theaters Friday
Good Girl Jane - a directorâs cinematic version of her life as a teenager getting caught up with a group of âpunks and drug dealers.â The reviews say itâs a performance heavy look at the time many of us are searching for identity and connection. Playing in Limited Theaters Friday
NOTABLE NEW RELEASE(S) đ & đş
Speak No Evil
When you hit certain ages, there are phrases that seem to appear out of nowhere. Like when youâre 9 and your parents start repeatedly telling you âItâs absolutely ridiculous, take off that god damn diaper already.â âŚâŚ??!!
Just me?
Ok, something more universal then - how about when youâre somewhere in your late 20âs / early 30âs and you start to hear people lament that âItâs just so hard to make friends as an adult.â !!!!!!!!
Phew, seems thatâs actually a thing.
Its easy to understand why - we get stuck in routines, have fewer new experiences, thereâs four hours of shows on streamers to watch every night... You get it. I get it. WE, get it.
So you can then also appreciate why a properly nice couple (Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy) might take another seemingly pleasant pair (James McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi) up on their offer to come stay with them in the English countryside - even if theyâd only just met on holiday.
In most scenarios youâd think to yourself, ok fine, maaaaybe they voted for candidate X who sux, or thereâs a chance theyâre fully on board with the Creed resurgence. Even in the absolute worst case, they put toilet paper rolls on the wrong way, but you know you can bail as needed.
But since this is movieland, instead you end up with James McAvoy charming you into his home and then promptly trying to stuff you like a turkey with turkey, even though youâre vegetarian. And the most egregious part, youâre husband is just standing there watching it all happen. Oh and yes, youâre married, but you cheated on him, because ârelationships.â
So to be clear, things can get worse than spinning a tp roll for five minutes searching for the end or Scott Stapp tossing his arms *ahem* wide open and asking you to âbring it in here.â
But itâs not all bad! Your awkward trauma trip will at least be recorded so everyone else can see, including the harshest critics who think it may not be as good as the more nuanced Danish original, but at least it does a pretty good job at showing how âbeing politeâ can turn dangerous, real fast.
But that doesnât sound great, so you say to yourself, why am I in movieland, Iâm just a reader of some silly newsletter, this shit is crazy. So you extract yourself from danger and instead step back to the side where you watch the wild stuff go down. And vow to never trust anyone again, because you never know1.

THE WEEKLY TRAILER PLAYLIST âŻ
Wolfman - someoneâs been watching the original Alien trailerâŚ
The Wild Robot - mainly sharing this to see this movie is getting kind of insane (ly good) reviews. Currently sitting at 100% with some very enthusiastic critics.
Will & Harper - as in Will Ferrell and Harper Steele, who met on SNL (Steele was a writer) take a road trip together shortly after learning Harper was transgender.
Saturday Night - only fitting we drop the second trailer for this dramatization of SNLâs opening show next.
Megalopolis - whelp, they came back with a new trailer (after the last one featured made up quotes) and⌠yeah, it looks quite silly. But hey, who knows!
sure you do
I've mainly been watching Michael Keaton movies this past week. Pacific Heights and The Paper. Both great!
